If you have never been on a road trip in a Toyota Highlander, you are missing out! I got the chance to drive the 2019 Toyota Highlander Hybrid. Keep reading to see where we took this classy SUV.
I drive a Toyota Camry and I love my car. My Camry is reliable, pretty, comfortable, and fuel efficient. It does not make the best camping vehicle, though. I was very excited when I got the chance to take a 2019 Toyota Highlander Hybrid on our family camping trip. I had driven a Highlander before, and so I knew I was going to be hitting the road in a vehicle known for its class and power. That was important to me because we had a five hour drive ahead.
The Highlander is at home on the highway and in a national park. The SUV drives comfortably and is as smooth as my Camry. The spacious cabin makes travel more relaxing and fun. The Hybrid model also makes travel more affordable. Of course, Toyota’s famous reliability helps families travel with confidence. The cargo room in the Toyota Highlander was awesome and it allowed us to haul quite a bit of firewood to our campsite. We sure appreciated that because our camping nights were very cold.
We camped in Grand Canyon National Park with friends. If you have never camped there, I would definitely recommend it. We stayed at the Mather Campground which was clean, beautiful, close to showers, near the Grand Canyon bus, trails, a general store, and had regular deer visitors.
We were very satisfied with the Highlander’s camping ability. We were able to bring a lot of gear, travel comfortably, and relax knowing we were traveling in an SUV with Toyota’s well-known reliability. Plus, the Highlander looks great in the woods. If you do not believe me, try it for yourself. You won’t regret it.
Disclaimer: I drove a Toyota Highlander to facilitate this review.
