Gardner Elliot is like a lot of 16 year old boys, but also unlike any of them. Like most teens, he craves human interaction, adventure, and a sense of purpose. However, Gardner has never set foot on Earth and his existence is a secret. That does not stop Gardner from doing whatever he can to meet the girl of his dreams, find his mysterious father, and experience a life worth living.
This movie made me laugh, cry, and appreciate people more. I also appreciated the compelling and original story-line. The Space Between Us is not, strictly speaking, a sci-fi movie as much as it is a coming-of-age movie. I think you will like it.
Rating: PG-13 for brief sensuality and language.
