I was given the opportunity to screen the movie Is Genesis History to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own.
I am a Christian but even when I was an atheist, I did not believe in evolution. I have read a lot on the subjects of the Bible, evolution, Noah’s flood, and what any of this might mean to us as humans. I thought I had formed a solid and fact-based opinion on these matters. That is until I watched Is Genesis History?. This ground-breaking film summarizes the evidence used by creation scientists to support their belief in the biblical account of creation, the flood, and the diversity of the species.
The issues discussed in Is Genesis History? include evidence for a young earth, evidence of a global flood, the ability of animals to change, the fossil record, microbiology, and so much more. I watched this movie with my 13-year-old-son who loves science and nature and he could not stop talking about it. Of course, he really liked the segments that included dinosaurs, but there was more to it than that. We both appreciated that the ideas were grounded in science and compared against scripture. I personally loved that all the subject matter experts in the movie are scientists with doctorates.
Is Genesis History? is a well-made, high-quality film that makes you think. I challenge anyone who believes in the Judeo-Christian creation story, or anyone who does not, to watch this film and decide for yourself. Your mind may not be changed, but my hope is that you will gain new perspective and seek new knowledge.
