I have never watched Shaun the Sheep on television, although I am a Wallace and Gromit fan and I love British humor. Despite not being a Shaun the Sheep fan, I attended a media screening of the new Shaun the Sheep Movie. I brought three young ladies with me aged 18, 11, and 7. None of them had ever watched Shaun the Sheep either.
The film is a light-hearted, fun, movie about the importance of family and being together. We were all surprised that there is no traditional dialogue in the movie, but soon found that it was not necessary. Watching all the characters communicate without words was quite comical. There is a small amount of humor revolving around bodily functions but nothing too gross. All of the girls loved the movie, especially the 11 year old who thought is was “really great” and “very funny.” I found it to be entertaining in an old fashioned way, but also very relevant. Family life is so important and this movie reminds us of that.
Shaun the Sheep Movie is now playing in theaters. Take the kiddos and go see it today.
