Paddington 2 is a family-friendly movie that succeeds at doing what most sequels only dream of doing: being better than the original. Keep reading for the full review.
I liked the first Paddington movie, but found it a little over the top. I was actually quite surprised when I heard a sequel was being released. But I love that little bear and I could not resist seeing him again. I went to Paddington 2 with moderate expectations and left feeling uplifted and entertained.
Paddington 2 picks up shortly after the first movie ends. Paddington is searching for the perfect present for his beloved Aunt Lucy’s hundredth birthday and he discovers a unique pop-up book in Mr. Gruber’s antique shop. Paddington works hard to earn the money to buy the book and when it is stolen, it’s up to Paddington and the Browns to unmask the thief. This creates some moments of tension and suspense, but also a whole lot of laughs.
Paddington 2 is rated PG and is a family-friendly movie. It is surprisingly inspirational and has a strong family message. There is so much I want to share with you, but I do not want to ruin any surprises. Let’s just say that Paddington ends up somewhere you would never expect with results that you might not anticipate. Take your kiddos and head to the movies to see Paddington 2. You will love it!
Rating: Rated PG for some action and mild rude humor.
Scene after the Credits: Yes. Stay for a fun scene with Hugh Grant.
