Everyone’s favorite superheroes are back with a bang in Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. This newest installment in the Marvel superhero movie franchise is packed with action and has more Avengers than any installment so far with appearances by all of your favorites from the first Avengers movie, plus Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Vision, War Machine, and Falcon. It is going to take all of these Avengers and more to defeat the very scary, powerful, and intelligent Ultron.
The basic story-line of Avengers: Age of Ultron has Tony Stark working on a dormant peacekeeping program which does not go as planned and results in a battle to save the planet from destruction at the hands of Ultron. This movie seemed more violent to me than the previous Avengers movie, however, it is not a bloody movie by any measure. Ultron is a scarier foe than Loki was, but the androids in this movie are not quite as scary as the aliens that came out of the sky in the first Avengers. This newest Avengers movie seemed to contain a little more profanity and sexual innuendo than the first, although my daughter did not seem to notice. But do not worry, there is still plenty of humor to go around here.
There are a few new story developments that I will not spoil here. I will say that one Avenger has a pretty big secret, a new romance is beginning, and a few Avengers fight each other.
Comic book fans, you will see some variation from the story of Ultron that you know, but it is a good adaptation and an entertaining movie that I think your entire family will enjoy. Avengers: Age of Ultron is rated PG-13 and is 141 minutes long. I saw this movie in IMAX 3D and it was very intense. I think it would still be amazing in 2D.
