Slow Down and Savor the Holidays with Marie Callender’s Pies

This is my favorite time of the year. Fall makes me happy and Thanksgiving brings me joy! I love spending time with my family and hanging out in the kitchen. I especially love it when family from out-of-state visits during the holidays. But sometimes I do start to feel overwhelmed, especially since I prefer to cook from scratch with all natural  ingredients. A lot of the recipes I prepare require time, a lot of ingredients, and great care. The joy of cooking can quickly become the anxiety and stress of cooking and nobody wants that. One minute mama is happy and smiling, and the next the flour hits the fan! It is nice to find a way to cut down on the work while keeping the quality. That is why I was happy to discover that Marie Callender’s uses high quality ingredients in their pies. I have the option of cutting down my meal prep time and keeping my sanity and family peace.

Less work = less stress = happy mama = happy family! I think I saw that somewhere in a math class?

In order to spread the mama happiness, I recently took a Lattice Apple Pie over to a friend’s house and she and I sampled it together. It was fun to kick back, relax, and eat some delicious pie without having to actually make a pie from scratch! We are both busy moms and she has four children so we know how crazy holiday cooking can get. I chose the Lattice Apple Pie over the other Marie Callender’s apple pies because I found it very pretty and appetizing.  I also loved the fact that all of the ingredients were natural and were basically the same things I would put into an apple pie if I made it myself. The pie was delicious and I ate way too much of it!  This pie uses Fuji apples and it was the perfect level of sweetness. The crust was also perfectly flaky and enjoyable. I plan to serve this pie with my Christmas dinner this year.  It will give me a break and allow me to slow down and savor Christmas Day because I won’t have to worry about making a pie from scratch – Marie Callender’s has already done it for me.

Check back in December for my review of the Marie Callender’s Peppermint Pie. It looks delicious and I cannot wait to try it.

Good luck and don’t forget to relax and enjoy your holiday meals this year! Take a break, drink some tea, and hey…why not eat some pie you didn’t have to slave over!

This post was inspired by my participation in a compensated program initiated by The Motherhood for Marie Callender’s pies.  All commentary and opinions are my own.
