I have a confession to make. I have never really been a big Batman fan. Batman has always seemed gloomy and dark to me. I first met LEGO Batman in the instant classic, the LEGO Movie. I was quite surprised when he quickly became my favorite character in the movie. He was clever, sarcastic, compulsive, and sardonic in a humorous way. When I read that LEGO Batman was going to star in his own feature film, I knew it would be awesome, and I was right because everything about The LEGO Batman Movie is awesome.
The LEGO Batman Movie hits the ground running with humor mixed right into the opening credits and the movie never slows down from there. LEGO Batman leads a glamorous life and is the hero of Gotham. When a new police commissioner arrives in Gotham, Batman is forced to face his greatest fear. The LEGO Batman Movie is fantastic on many levels. The movie boasts a long list of superheroes and villains and the dynamic between all the characters is multi-layered and captivating. This is the most fun I have had at the movies in a long time. We have all known creative kids who made us laugh and marvel at their creativity. The LEGO Batman Movie feels like it was written by those kids. It is hilarious, goofy, and oh so clever.
Grab your family and head out to the movies this weekend. Take a break from the craziness and discord happening all around us, and let yourself be entertained.
Rating: PG for rude humor and some action
Scene after the credits: No. However, there is much during the credits.
Running time: 1 hour 44 minutes
I can’t wait to see this… I loved the last Lego movie and know I will like this one too.. sounds great. These movies are going to be classics
It sounds like it would be too much for my 3 year old grandson… What do you think?
I think he would be fine. It is pretty entertaining, with bright colors and fun music.
We are going tonight to see it! I hope it is as exciting as your review is. Thanks.
