We are a military family so we know firsthand what sacrifice means. Chances are, with the current global situation, you probably know a veteran or military service member, or are one yourself. There are many wonderful programs designed to help vets today. One of my favorites is Veteran Tickets Foundation, a national non-profit, non-governmental 501c(3) tax-exempt organization.
The Veteran Tickets Foundation (VetTix) aims to give free tickets to all Veterans, Active Duty Military and their families as a way of thanking them. According to the VetTix website, “We team up with major sports teams, leagues, promoters, organizations, venues and everyday ticket holders to provide free and discounted tickets to the more than 26 million Veterans and Active Duty Military in the United States.” If you have tickets you are not going to use, or have tickets you want to donate, you can donate those to VetTix and they will make sure they get into a veteran’s hands. You can also donate money to the program.
If you are a veteran, head over to the VetTix website and register for a free account and start looking for tickets. In most cases you will have to pay a shipping charge to get the tickets sent to you via FedEx or the mail. Our family has gotten tickets through VetTix for several sporting events, including a private suite at an NBA game. One great thing about this program is that we usually get enough tickets to cover our family of four – it is not just one free ticket for the veteran.
VetTix is an organization dedicated to showing gratitude to veterans and active duty service members. Check out their website today to find out more about donating and receiving tickets. www.vettix.org
