Tuna casserole is a nice, old-fashioned comfort food. It reminds me of being a child and for some reason, it reminds me of rainy days. It is easy to make and you probably have all the ingredients on hand. There are many variations to tuna casserole, but I like this one because it is simple, easy, and cheap. We have a wide range of palettes in this house, yet every member of our family loves this recipe. Try this recipe for a super easy tuna casserole and let me know if you like it.
Easy Tuna Casserole
Ingredients
- 8 oz shell pasta
- 1/3 cup mayonaisse
1/2 cup half-and-half
- 1-2 cans of tuna (we like 2)
- 1/2 cup peas
- 1 tomato
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Cook pasta according to package directions and drain. Do not overcook.
- Mix pasta with all ingredients except tomato and cheese.
- Pour into a greased casserole
- Slice tomato and layer on top.
- Sprinkle cheese on top.
- For a crispier top, leave uncovered. Otherwise, cover the dish.
- Bake for 30 minutes.
This recipe is easy to alter so feel free to add more mayo, cheese, peas, etc. You can also add dill or other herbs to fit your taste.

Wow, I haven’t seen tuna casserole made quite that way before. It sounds quite yummy! I have always made it using condensed cream of mushroom soup as the sauce.
