Chill With Marie Callender’s Peppermint Pie

Chill With Marie Callender’s Peppermint Pie

This has been a crazy busy month at my house and I am sure yours is the same. I hosted Thanksgiving and it was fun and rewarding.  I saved a little time in the kitchen by grabbing a Marie Callender’s Peppermint Pie from the store. I usually like to make my pies from scratch but I also wanted to keep my sanity. Marie Callender’s has an awesome reputation and they make delicious pies. I recently reviewed their Lattice Apple Pie and that was super yummy.  However, I had never tried the Peppermint Pie so I gave it a whirl.

The Marie Callender’s Peppermint Pie requires no baking, you simply defrost it in the fridge for anywhere from 30 minutes to and hour and 30 minutes depending on how solid you want it to be.  It is cool, creamy, and has just the right amount of mint flavor. The bonus for me was the cookie crust which added the perfect touch to this pie. I was a little irked when I only got one piece of this beauty.  I had over a dozen people at my house for Thanksgiving and when I turned my back after eating my small sample piece, the whole pie was gone! I am going to buy two of these babies for Christmas  dinner. I will not be left without again.

In all seriousness, take a break and chill.  Slow down and savor the holidays instead of trying to do every last thing yourself. You know that old expression that a sandwich made by someone else tastes better than one you made yourself?  Well, I am sure you make a very wonderful peppermint pie, but this one will taste better because you won’t be too exhausted to taste it. Go ahead and let Marie Callender’s make your pie for you. I won’t tell if you won’t.

Enjoy this $1 off coupon good for all frozen Marie Callender’s pies which you can download until December 18 and which expires January 19, 2013. See, it will save you time and this coupon saves you money.  It is a win-win situation.

This post was inspired by my participation in a compensated program initiated by The Motherhood for Marie Callender’s pies.  All commentary and opinions are my own.
