I don’t make a lot of refrigerated convenience products but I do occasionally buy them because my husband loves them. I usually simply make them according to the package directions since that is how hubby likes them (and I do not eat many of them anyway). However, I was recently inspired to think outside of the biscuit tube when Wendy over at Around My Family Table invited me to her place for a Pillsbury Potluck Party. Since she is such a great cook I knew I could not show up with simple crescent rolls so I came up with this recipe. Thanks for snapping this picture, Wendy!
Tex-Mex Stuffed Crescent Rolls
Ingredients
- 1 can crescent rolls
- 1 cup cooked black beans
- Mexican-style shredded cheese
- cilantro, chopped
- cumin
- chili powder
Directions
- Unroll each crescent roll triangle and sprinkle with cumin and chili powder.
- Fill with 1 tbs black beans, 1 tbs cheese, and 1 tsp of chopped cilantro.
- Roll crescent roll in usual manner.
- Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes.
- Serve warm.
Sounds delicious! I might add some shredded chicken to make them a little more hearty because my husband feels if there is no meat it’s not a meal! I’ll let cha know how they turn out, thanks for the idea.
I always wonder what to do with black beans and I love crescent rolls! Great post! Stumbled.
Don’t you just love how versatile crescent rolls are? This is a yummy use for them. I am a new Twitter follower visiting from We are THAT family. Vicky from Mess For Less
I don’t usually use them either but they have so many recipes on their website that whenever they are on sale I’ll grab a few cans and try something new out. I’ve learned anything I can dip in ranch dressing is good.
