The 25 Worst Passwords

In Time for Cyber Monday – The 25 Worst Passwords

Monday is the big online shopping day known as Cyber Monday. Many families will shop online to find amazing deals. Online shopping usually means creating or using passwords and in some cases can mean a greater risk of ne’er-do-wells hacking your computer. (If you want more info on keeping your computer protected head over to my favorite computer guru Kim Komando’s site).

Just in time for Cyber Monday, Splashdata has released its “25 Worst Passwords of the Year” list for 2011.  Is your password on this list?

Experts recommend that you help keep your family, identity, finances, and computer safe by using long passwords with special characters, upper and lower case letters, numbers, and as many variations as you can include. Try not to use your address, name, birth date or other personal information.

As for the bad passwords, the first one is my all time favorite.  It seems so obvious not use use “password” as your password. However, Ashley, Bailey, and monkey are a few on this list that surprised me. What about you? Feel free to leave a comment.  Share and let’s talk about it.
