Veggie Cups

Veggie Cups

Veggie Cups #HomeBowlParty

I recently saw an awesome idea over at $5 Dinners and decided to give it a try. We have all seen the tired veggie tray with ranch dressing in the middle, but that can be quite a messy undertaking when the kiddos are serving themselves. This idea puts the veggies and the dip together in a portable and child sized cup. I recently served these at a gathering at my home and the children loved them and kept going back for more. The adults loved them as well and in no time flat, these veggie cups were gone. I had no leftovers to give to my chickens like I usually do with traditional veggie trays.

Try this fun and easy idea the next time you plan to serve veggies and dip at a gathering. I used plastic cups from the dollar store and put a little ranch dressing in the bottom of each cup. Then I cut the veggies thin enough and short enough to keep the cups from falling over. Easy peasy!

Cute idea. I might try this with my picky eater. I’ll try almost anything with her.

  2. This is a great idea for a party and can be adapted for other situations too. I like the mess control aspect but also you prepare it in advance and makes the party less hectic. Nice.

  3. I love this idea, this will be great for my son’s party next month!

  4. What a great idea! Those veggie trays always skeeve me out with all the double-dipping going on. Bleh. This way everyone can keep their own germs to themselves!

    so fun! thanks for sharing.

  11. This is a really good idea. I’ve seen similar with celery in PB with a lid for travelling, but I hadn’t thought of a buffet/shared dinner idea.

  12. (found ya on a link party) what a great child friendly idea. ill have to try these for my little girl.

  13. Great idea! It also would prevent people from hanging around over the dip so others have a hard time getting any. 🙂 Oh, and while double-dipping has been shown not to be a particularly good way to spread germs, you know what is? Reaching into a tray of food with unwashed fingers! So giving each kid his/her own veggies is more sanitary. Although I guess it would result in some waste by those who don’t like celery, etc. Well, they could still trade with each other!

  14. What a great idea!
