Keep it Simple Silly #SayYes2Less

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Little Remedies. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating. All opinions are my own and are truthful (of course!).
Have you ever heard the expression that sometimes less is more? I completely believe that old adage is true. There are so many things that I am trying to minimize in my life right now and I know that is probably true for you as well. I never paid much attention to artificial ingredients and additives until I became a mom. Suddenly I found myself cleaning with vinegar instead of harsh chemicals, searching for dye-free products, and reading ingredient labels. So when I got the opportunity to participate in the Little Remedies Say Yes to Less campaign I took it!

The two ingredients I try to avoid most are sugar and artificial coloring. I recently went on a sugar fast and once I was finished I realized how overly sweet everything is and how much better I was feeling. Now I am reducing the sugar in the kiddos’ diets as well which is challenging at times. I recently visited the Say Yes to Less site and pledged to say yes to less sugar. You should check it out and pledge to say yes to less sugar, waste, distractions, or even negativity. We could all do with less of any of those. One thing I love about these pledges is that they are very specific and have a time limit.  For example, when I took the pledge to say yes to less sugar, it gave me a few options on how to accomplish this and I chose to replace sugary drinks with water for 30 days.

Check out this video to see how we have simplified things around here (including Christmas presents).

Being as “less is more” minded as I am, I find it difficult at times to find an over-the-counter medication that I feel comfortable giving my kiddos. We do what we can to avoid getting sick but sometimes we do pick something up. When hand washing, vitamin C and Zinc supplements, hot tea, and eating a healthy diet are just not enough, I reach for Little Remedies. I have tried several of their products and I love that they are sugar, dye, and alcohol free. That means a lot to this picky mom. The last thing a sick kiddo needs is a vial of sugar, dye, and alcohol.

What about you?  Are you willing to take the pledge?  Why not at least go to the site and check it out? It is so easy and you just might help motivate someone else to make a change for the better.

What will you pledge to say less to? Feel free to leave a comment. Share and let’s talk about it.

  1. We also limit artificial food dyes and Christmas presents, but I think we need to say less to sugar and tv time too! Great video Janice! 🙂

  4. I agree with limiting sugar and artificial colors and sweeteners in foods, especially with kids and well really with anyone. K.I.S.S. always reminds me of Michael Scott from The Office, but his was keep it simple stupid.
