Disney’s Jungle Book (2016) Review and Free Printable

image011The story of the boy named Mowgli has been around for a long time and it has seen many adaptations. Perhaps the most famous version of the The Jungle Book is Disney’s 1967 animated version which many of us grew up watching and singing along with. Disney’s newest The Jungle Book movie is an incredible feat of live action paired with stunning CGI effects.

The movie tells the familiar story of a boy raised by wolves, animal life in the jungle, and the panic of being hunted by a vicious tiger. This movie is not the same as the animated version, which the PG rating makes clear. There are intense action sequences, scary scenes with the tiger Shere Khan, and times when little ones might feel afraid. As I always say, know your child. In general, I would say children under 8 might be a little overwhelmed at times.

The Jungle Book is a fun movie with moments of laughter, and yes, even some songs. The CGI animals are amazingly realistic and the movie is full of familiar voices including Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Scarlett Johansson, and Christopher Walken.

Rating. PG for some sequences of scary action and peril.

Worth seeing in 3D? Definitely! The Jungle Book is a visual feast with amazing depth in many scenes and a few scenes that really pop out at you. There is an amazing 3D moment in the film where Kaa the snake is hypnotizing Mowgli and the effects are pretty awesome.

Scene after the credits? There are some fun scenes and effects during the credits, but nothing after.

To celebrate the movie, I teamed up with some other bloggers to share some The Jungle Book inspired creations. Here is a free The Jungle Book printable for your enjoyment. Click here or on the image to print. Scroll down and find the rest of the fun and tasty creations.
