How Krispy Kreme Broke My Heart

How Krispy Kreme Broke My Heart

Today I took my sister to Krispy Kreme to celebrate her birthday. I was very excited to see that the hot light was on.  Yum-o! I was also excited because we learned earlier this summer that Krispy Kreme gives patrons a free box of a dozen doughnuts on their birthday. We were a little giddy as we walked up to the building, anticipating free, hot, sugary Krispy Kremes. Then I reached for the door handle and saw a devastating sign that read something like this, “We are pleased to offer you one free doughnut of your choice on your birthday.”  What?!  Just one?!  Sigh.  My sister was, of course, grateful for her free doughnut, but twelve is certainly better than one.

Oh, well. This is probably for the best. I am, after all, trying to eat healthier.

Did you ever get a free dozen from Krispy Kreme for your birthday? Will you still visit on your birthday for one free doughnut? Feel free to leave a comment. Share and let’s talk about it.

  1. I’m so glad they don’t give a full dozen, I’d eat them all. My husband would too. My two year old would even give it a valiant attempt. Clearly, we are a family who does not need free sweet fried dough.

Though I do feel your pain. It’s like they were taking 11 free donuts away!

  2. I didn’t even know they did this… Now I have to go on my birthday! Even one free is a good deal. 🙂

  3. Auntie Pam says

I have never gotten a doughnut from Krispy Kreme on my birthday. However, I know one thing, a dozen donuts is better than one!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Unfortunately, we have no Krispy Kreme here 🙁 But they are delightful the few times I have gotten to have one. Birthday donuts would be pretty awesome 🙂

  5. I had the same horrible experience…took my son in for his free dozen then a couple months later took my daughter in for her free dozen only to find out that they changed their policy on a week before. 🙁 I guess our waistlines will thank us later!

  6. Had never heard of a free dozen… or a free donut at all… but it’s the way of the world these days… cutbacks 🙂

  7. It is fun to go around and collect freebies on your birthday.

  8. BOOOOO. That stinks. Happy Birthday 🙂

  9. One is definitely never enough! I’m hopping by on the Alexa drop hop. Visit when you can.

  10. Having read this I believed it was extremely informative.

I appreciate you finding the time and energy to put this short article together.

I once again find myself personally spending a significant amount of
time both reading and leaving comments. But so what, it was still worth it!
