The Duttons: From Branson to Arizona, a Fun Show for the Whole Family

I was recently looking for a fun family show my family could go to to celebrate my husband’s birthday but I was not having any luck. So when the opportunity to attend the Duttons show presented itself I was very excited. I admit that I had not heard of the show nor the famous family before, but after checking out their website I was eager to check them out. My 11 year old son, on the other hand, was less than thrilled. “You mean we are just going to sit there and watch people sing?”  I tried to explain to him that we were going to watch an entertaining show, but I found it quite hard to explain. Nothing I said convinced him. He had to see it to believe it, but he turned into a Duttons fan in a hurry. My son’s eyes never left the stage during the entire show and he laughed like I had not heard him laugh in a long time.

We saw the Duttons in Mesa, Arizona where they perform from December to March before heading back home to Branson. The show is full of laughter, surprises, some tears, and a lot of musical talent. Take a close look at the picture atop this post which is from the Duttons’ website. They are playing each other’s fiddles and doing it very well. This show has a wide range of songs with everything from oldies to modern numbers. There is dancing, singing, comedy, and the night we were there they even had a military tribute. Perhaps the funniest parts of the show were the parts that included the character Julio, pictured below. There is no way I could adequately describe Julio. You really need to go see him yourself.

The Dutton family is very personable and approachable. They come out and greet the audience in the lobby during intermission and a few of the family members were even working the fudge booth (yes, they sell old fashioned fudge – and it is good).  Speaking of the lobby, the Duttons’ Mesa, Arizona theater has a gift shop right in the lobby with some pretty cool items. The Duttons also have quite a large presence in Branson, Missouri including a huge theater as well as a hotel.

We had such an amazing night and I was very impressed by this family. Not just because of their talent, but also for the love and commitment they have for one another.  We are going back to see the Duttons next month since they change their show up monthly. We also hope to make it out to Branson one day to see them perform again.

  1. I wasn’t familiar with the Duttons at all. Sounds like they are a modern version of the Osmonds?

    • Yes, I agree. The Duttons were top 10 finalists on America’s Got Talent, but I had not seen them before I went to the show. It was really a great show.

  2. That does look like fun! Sounds like you must have had an amazing time!

  3. I love that they’re family friendly and so talented. We live kind of far from AZ, but if we ever travel that way, we are DEFINITELY going to see the Duttons!

  4. I’m going to have to check out The Duttons one of these days, since I live not far from Branson.
