Celebrating Family

I don’t make a lot of refrigerated convenience products but I do occasionally buy them because my husband loves them.  I usually simply make them according to the package directions since that is how hubby likes them (and I do not eat many of them anyway).  However, I was recently inspired to think outside of the biscuit tube when Wendy over at Around My Family Table invited me to her place for a Pillsbury Potluck Party. Since she is such a great cook I knew I could not show up with simple crescent rolls so I came up with this recipe. Thanks for snapping this picture, Wendy!

Tex-Mex Stuffed Crescent Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 can crescent rolls
  • 1 cup cooked black beans
  • Mexican-style shredded cheese
  • cilantro, chopped
  • cumin
  • chili powder

Directions

  1. Unroll each crescent roll triangle and sprinkle with cumin and chili powder.
  2. Fill with 1 tbs black beans, 1 tbs cheese, and 1 tsp of chopped cilantro.
  3. Roll crescent roll in usual manner.
  4. Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes.
  5. Serve warm.

A can of crescent rolls only has eight servings so you might want to double this.  Also, all the ingredient amounts can be varied to suit your own taste preferences.  Try these out.  I hope you love them. Enjoy!

Have you ever stuffed a crescent roll?  I recently stuffed some with Dove chocolate.  Yum-o.  What about you?  Feel free to leave a comment.  Share and let’s talk about it.
