I love spending one-on-one time with my daughter. Because she is my second born, I do not get as much alone time with her as I did with my son who was an only child for 4 years. Add that fact with the busyness of the holiday season and it can be very challenging to have one-on-one time at all. I put together this list of fun and relatively affordable mother-daughter activities and I hope you will leave comments with your ideas as well. Let’s make quality time with our children something we never take a holiday from.
Mother-Daughter Date Ideas
- Visit your local zoo.
- Pack a picnic lunch and go to the museum.
- Pack a shoebox for Operation Christmas Child (thru Nov. 21).
- Make cupcakes together.
- Work together at a food bank or other community service project.
- Go window shopping at the mall (or shopping at the mall with a $20 budget).
- Buy a toy for a Salvation Army Christmas Angel (thru Dec. 13).
- Have a picnic at the park.
- Get your nails and/or toes done.
- Go to a movie.
Have you done any of these activities with your daughter? What other mother-daughter date ideas do you have? Feel free to leave a comment. Share and let’s talk about it.

My daughter and I like to take lunch dates now and then to a “girly” restaurant or tea room that the guys won’t go to. We like to go to the library, too. We share our finds and usually find a movie that we can watch together!
