Easy Ocean Cupcakes

Easy Ocean Cupcakes

I previously shared the fact that I cannot make a pretty cupcake to save my life. Because of this deficiency, I am always trying to find quick and easy ways to make my cupcakes fun. Here is one idea I used for my son’s classroom birthday party earlier this year.

Make your favorite cupcakes and vanilla frosting. Add a little bit of blue food dye to the frosting until you get a nice oceanic color. Frost the cupcakes and sprinkle with blue sugar crystals. Place a Swedish fish or gummy shark on each cupcake.

These cupcakes are more fun if you decorate around them as well. I decorated the bottom of a cake box with blue tissue paper and placed ocean-themed stickers around the cupcakes. These were easy, fun, and the children in my son’s class loved them.

  1. These are really cute! I have been playing with a set of cake decorating supplies I had handed down to me from my grandma. I have had more fails than I care to admit, and they are all documented because of the “blowing out the birthday candle” photos, lol!
These look like a lot of fun, and gummy candy is always a hit in my house!
